UFC lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan was at the center of a heated scene at the MVP MMA: Rousey vs. Carano pre-Netflix broadcast, confronting fellow Armenian fighter Namo Fazil after Fazil’s win.
Tsarukyan lunged at Fazil from the stands following Fazil’s submission victory over Jake Babian, sparking a visible flare-up at the event. The tension didn’t stop there, as Tsarukyan and his entourage later confronted Fazil and his team backstage.
According to event details, tensions between Tsarukyan and Fazil began after a disagreement over comments Tsarukyan made on a live stream about Armenia's Kurdish community. Both fighters share Armenian heritage but currently compete in different promotions and different weight classes.
Tsarukyan, described as the No. 1 UFC lightweight contender, also has a busy schedule outside of MVP. He is booked for RAF wrestling matches against influencer Mugzy on May 30 and former UFC fighter Tony Ferguson on June 13.
