Brief Overview of UFC 300 Fights

Pereira vs Hill

Alex is preparing for his first title defense in the light heavyweight division against former champion Hill. Pereira, who has confidently moved through the UFC roster and has become a champion in two divisions over 7 fights, is undoubtedly the favorite.

Hill took the belt from veteran Teixeira by a judges' decision a year ago and hasn't fought since due to an injury sustained during training. After that, he did what a true gentleman would do: he vacated the belt so the division wouldn't stall waiting for his recovery. But now he's in shape and ready to reclaim his own.

Who will win this fight? It's more likely that we won't see a full fight since both fighters prefer to finish their fights with knockouts.

Zhang vs Xiaonan

Another title fight on the card. Weili will defend her belt against her compatriot, who has not been very confident in the UFC but, due to weak competition in the division, managed to get to a contender fight.

Zhang is a strong favorite in the match, and rightfully so. An upset is not expected unless Weili decides to give up the fight or sustains an injury.

Gaethje vs Holloway

A fight for the BMF (Baddest Mother F***er) belt. Well, are they really BMF? Masvidal, Diaz, Covington, even Conor... But these "cuties" and kind-hearted people, Gaethje and Max?

Alright, if they want the belt, they'll have it.

Gaethje is a strong favorite, as this is his division and he is on a winning streak, including victories over strong fighters. Max, having lost all hope of regaining the title in the featherweight division, decided to try his luck in the lightweight division: less weight cutting, a popular opponent, and some kind of belt.

What to expect from the fight? Justin should confidently beat the opponent at a long distance. Remember, this is a 5-round fight, 5 minutes each.

Nickal vs Brandaidge

Nickal is being led to a title fight. But before that, he'll face Chimaev to see whose grappling is better.

We expect an early victory for Bo over Cody in the first half of the fight.

Oliveira vs Tsarukyan

Tsarukyan is young, ambitious, and on a winning streak. But! The only truly strong opponent on his record is Dariush. And today, he faces a former division champion, who holds several UFC records, has tremendous experience, and still hopes to reclaim the belt.

Can Charles be an underdog at 2.6?

Prochazka vs Rakic

Both fighters have long wanted to fight each other, but rankings have kept them in different corners. Now both are in the TOP 5, both with a loss in their last fights by knockout (Rakic due to a leg injury), and both are eager to earn a contender fight.

Prochazka is a "freak," but a very strong fighter, and it's surprising that he's currently at even odds with his opponent. This is probably due to Rakic's form, who was leading in his last lost fight against Blachowicz but was undone by a leg injury.

We expect an early finish to the fight, as both opponents are fully charged against each other and ambitious to reach (Prochazka to reclaim) the title.

By the way, one of this pair will be a backup fighter for the main fight if Pereira or Hill drops out. Since Prochazka fought the last fight for the vacant title and lost, Rakic is likely to be the backup fighter. We will find out a week or two before the tournament.

Kattar vs Sterling

Calvin is on a two-fight losing streak and now effectively serves as a "gatekeeper" for the former bantamweight champ. We all know that Kattar has a powerful "chin," and it's almost impossible to knock him out. In his last lost fight, a knee injury was the only technical knockout loss in Calvin's career.

Rahim is moving up in weight, as cutting weight becomes harder with age. He lost his last fight and gave up the champion's belt to O'Malley. Now he faces the challenge of conquering a new division, and in case of victory, he could at most rank around 7-8 places. This means that to get to a championship fight, he will have to win about 3 more successful fights against higher-ranked fighters.

What to expect from this fight? A decision in either direction, or Sterling could win by submission.

Holm vs Harrison

Kayla was bored in the PFL and decided to seek some fame, as she already has enough money. She will face the renowned Holly Holm, who once dethroned Ronda Rousey. However, Holly has not been able to find stability in her performances since then, though she has reached title fights.

Harrison is a favorite at 1.2 in the pre-match, as the UFC management has a direct interest in bringing her to a championship fight and making a huge profit from it. Kayla will be their "golden goose" until her first loss.

If there are no injuries, then Kayla Harrison is expected to win by a judges' decision.

Yusuff vs Lopez

Sodiq is an experienced UFC fighter and has even headlined an event. However, he is not a stable fighter and easily breaks under pressure.

Diego, on the other hand, is able to work coolly, as shown in his debut fight against Evloev. It was clear then that he would sooner or later become a ranked fighter and close in on the top 5.

We expect Lopez to win early by TKO in the first 1.5 rounds or by decision.
