Vinicius Oliveira is moving up to featherweight to face Giga Chikadze in a three-round bout at UFC Fight Night 279.

The matchup is set to take place at Meta APEX in Las Vegas, with Oliveira stepping in at 145 pounds after previously competing at bantamweight. News of the booking was first reported by Setanta Sport.

Oliveira enters the fight with a professional record of 23-4 and a UFC mark of 4-1. He joined the UFC in 2023 after 22 regional fights and has earned wins over Bernardo Sopaj, Ricky Simon, Said Nurmagomedov, and Kyler Phillips. His lone UFC loss came by submission to Mario Bautista in February, after which he cited difficulties making bantamweight.

Chikadze brings a 15-6 professional record and an 8-4 UFC slate into UFC Fight Night 279. He debuted in the promotion in 2019 and is currently on a three-fight losing streak against Arnold Allen, David Onama, and Kevin Vallejos.
