UFC heavyweight Valter Walker has issued a violent challenge to Josh Hokit, saying he wants to seriously injure the unbeaten fighter in a future matchup after comments Hokit made about Brazil.
Walker, 28, is a 15-1 heavyweight who set a submission record at UFC 321 and is currently riding a four-fight streak, all by heel hook submission. He is scheduled to face Thomas Petersen later this month on the UFC Abu Dhabi lineup in the UAE.
Speaking about Hokit, Walker did not hold back. “This guy is no problem for me,” Walker said, before escalating his warning. “This guy, Josh Hokit, I can break his leg. But please, when he taps, I don’t wanna let him go. No, I’m going to send him to surgery, brother. If I take his leg and he taps, I don’t wanna let him go. He talked shit about my country. He talked shit about Brazilian people. Before, when my leg was broken, he called my name on the microphone. But step by step, one day, we are gonna meet in the Octagon. One day, his foot is gonna be mine.”
Hokit, 10-0, is currently unbooked following his UFC White House win over Derrick Lewis. Walker’s focus in the cage next will be Petersen in Abu Dhabi, but his sights are clearly set on a future clash with Hokit after the Brazil insults.
