26-05-26

Usman Nurmagomedov is set to defend his PFL lightweight title against Archie Colgan in the main event on July 31 at UBS Arena in Long Island.

Promotion officials announced the bookings to the New York Post on Tuesday, confirming the championship headliner along with a co-main event featuring Dakota Ditcheva vs. Denise Kielholtz.

Ditcheva vs. Kielholtz was previously scheduled for PFL Dubai in February before Ditcheva withdrew due to injury. The matchup now joins the Long Island card as the co-headliner.

Nurmagomedov most recently defended his belt by submitting Alfie Davis at PFL Dubai in February. He captured the inaugural PFL lightweight title by defeating Paul Hughes a second straight time.

Colgan enters the title fight after defeating Jay Jay Wilson by unanimous decision at PFL Dubai. He is a two-time NCAA Championship qualifier in wrestling and holds wins over Mansour Barnaoui, Thibault Gouti, and Emmanuel Sanchez.

Ditcheva, the 2024 PFL flyweight tournament winner, is returning from a layoff of more than a year due to a hand injury and has recent wins over Taila Santos and Sumiko Inaba.
