Usman Nurmagomedov is not convinced Conor McGregor will make it to his scheduled UFC 329 main event against Max Holloway on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor is currently lined up to face Holloway in the headliner, after previously being booked to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024 before withdrawing due to a broken pinky toe.
Nurmagomedov made his skepticism clear, saying, "I don't think he's going to fight," and adding, "I think he's going to pull out, or something happens, or in this world a war is going to begin, but he's not going to fight."
Still, Nurmagomedov believes the matchup would be a major attraction if it happens. "If he's going to fight with Holloway, of course all MMA fans are going to watch this fight," he said.
When it comes to a potential outcome, Nurmagomedov leans toward Holloway. "In my opinion, Holloway is going to win because he was active. When you don't fight for like almost five years – five years, he's now 37." McGregor has been out of competition for almost five years, holding a 22-6 professional record (10-4 UFC), while Holloway sits at 27-9 overall (23-9 UFC).
