Azamat Murzakanov puts his perfect record on the line against Paulo Costa in the light heavyweight co-main event of UFC 327 at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday.
Murzakanov vs. Costa serves as the 205-pound showcase on the card, with Murzakanov entering the bout ranked No. 8 at light heavyweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. The matchup comes with added intrigue as Costa, a longtime middleweight contender, continues his move up to light heavyweight.
Murzakanov brings a 16-0 record into UFC 327 and has finished five of his first six UFC opponents since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021. His most recent win was a quick stoppage of Aleksandar Rakic in a little over three minutes, a result that gave him 12 knockouts in his 16 victories.
Costa enters UFC 327 following a bounce-back performance against Roman Kopylov at UFC 318. He is more than five years removed from his lone UFC title shot against then-middleweight champion Israel Adesanya and is 2-4 in his past six fights as he looks to re-establish himself in a new division.
