Umar Nurmagomedov Draws Streaking David Martinez at UFC Abu Dhabi
01-06-26

Umar Nurmagomedov is set to face rising contender David Martinez in the co-headliner of UFC Fight Night 282 on July 25 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

Nurmagomedov enters the bout with a 20-1 MMA record and a 7-1 mark in the UFC. He previously challenged for the bantamweight title at UFC 311, where he lost to Merab Dvalishvili, but has since rebounded with unanimous decision victories over Mario Bautista and Deiveson Figueiredo, the latter coming at UFC 324.

Martinez, ranked No. 9 at bantamweight, brings a 14-1 professional record and a perfect 3-0 start in the UFC. He is currently riding a 10-fight winning streak.

A graduate of Dana White's Contender Series, Martinez broke into the UFC bantamweight rankings by defeating former title challenger Marlon Vera in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 268 in February.

The matchup adds significant intrigue to the Abu Dhabi card, with both bantamweights carrying momentum into a pivotal clash at UFC Fight Night 282.
