Three UFC newcomers all came up short in their first Octagon appearances at UFC Perth on Sat., May 2, 2026, at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.

The promotion’s latest rookies went 0-3 on the night, with Ollie Schmid, Ben Johnston and Dom Mar Fan all suffering defeats in their respective debuts.

Schmid, who stepped in on short notice and entered the UFC with a 4-2 record, landed nine significant strikes before being knocked out by Marwan Rahiki.

Johnston, who was 35 years old at the time of his UFC signing and had previously retired to focus on coaching, accepted a spot on the UFC Perth card after one of his students could not fight. He controlled large portions of the first two rounds against Wes Schultz before being submitted by guillotine in Round 3.

Dom Mar Fan, who earned his contract via Road to UFC Season 4, faced grappling specialist Kody Steele in his debut and was submitted by heel hook.
