A new UFC Countdown special has dropped, putting the spotlight on Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane ahead of their UFC White House co-main event in Washington, DC.
The broadcast builds anticipation for the June 14 Sunday card, which will air on Paramount+, and features in-depth looks at both the co-main and the headlining matchup between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.
Pereira’s segment tracks part of his preparation in Sobralia, Brazil, where he chose to base this camp. “It’s always important for me to be back home in Brazil,” Pereira said. He added, “Being here definitely helps me stay connected to my roots. That means a lot to me, it really energizes me. We’re in a new place for this camp, Sobralia. Glover’s from here. He’s a champion, so I knew there was something special here.”
The special also highlights UFC president Dana White’s expectations for the event’s reach, with White invoking “Super Bowl” when discussing potential viewership. The UFC White House event is scheduled for Sunday, June 14, in Washington, DC, with Pereira vs. Gane serving as the co-main attraction on Paramount+.
