Tyson–Mayweather Exhibition Bout Postponed to Fall After Hand Injury
21-05-26

The planned exhibition fight between Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been postponed from spring to fall after Tyson suffered a hand injury in training.

The bout was initially scheduled for April 25 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, with promoters Richard Miele and Craig Miele also citing May 30 as the initial fight date. The promoters have not announced a new date or venue but stated they will do so shortly.

Tyson had been seen wearing a cast on his right arm in March and said at the time he had sprained it during training. “Training, punching stuff. Just a little sprain, I have to go hard, it’s the only way I’ve got to go.” Later in March during Tyson’s trip to Thailand, there was no sign of the cast in videos and photos of him.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is scheduled to fight Manny Pacquiao in a professional fight this September in Las Vegas, while the new date for the Tyson exhibition is expected to land in the fall.
