UFC Freedom 250 is officially set for June 14 on the White House South Lawn in Washington D.C., with Donald Trump promoting the event as a one-of-a-kind show.
The UFC card will take place in front of an expected 5,000 spectators around the octagon, with Ilia Topuria vs. Justin Gaethje headlining in a lightweight title-unification bout. In the co-main event, Alex Pereira faces Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt.
Trump emphasized the uniqueness of staging UFC Freedom 250 at the White House, saying, "It's right at the front door to the White House, and you'll never see it again," and adding, "It's never happened before, and you'll never see it again. It's great and the UFC's going to have all the best fighters in the world coming that night. They all say we want to fight at the White House. Dana is an amazing man, he's done an amazing job, he's put together something that – this will be the highest-rated event, maybe one of them ever in sports."
According to Trump, the event is planned as a free experience for soldiers, with large crowds and giant screens in a nearby park. "What he's (White) done is amazing, I'm not sure anybody could have done it but him. You don't usually say that but not many people could have, he's a very special man. This is going and it's all free. It's going to soldiers. We're going to have over 100,000, maybe 100,000 people in the park across the street, eight giant screens, and all free."
UFC events, including UFC Freedom 250, are being streamed exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. instead of pay-per-view.
