Former UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger Irene Aldana has been removed from the UFC roster while still ranked in the division’s top 10.
Aldana, a 38-year-old Mexican fighter, exits the promotion with an 8-6 UFC record, featuring victories over Yana Santos, Macy Chiasson, Ketlen Vieira, Bethe Correia and Karol Rosa.
Her most recent appearance came in September 2024, when she dropped a decision to Norma Dumont on the first Noche UFC card at The Sphere.
Aldana fought for UFC gold in 2023, challenging Amanda Nunes in the main event of UFC 289 and losing by unanimous decision after entering the title picture off consecutive wins over Santos and Chiasson.
