TKO Chiefs Ari Emanuel, Mark Shapiro Approved as Raiders Owners
21-05-26

TKO Group Holdings executives Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro have been approved as minority shareholders in the Las Vegas Raiders, further linking the UFC’s parent company to one of the NFL’s marquee franchises.

The approvals were granted at the NFL league meetings in Las Vegas. Emanuel acquired a 1.4% stake in the Raiders, while Shapiro secured a 0.6% stake. The team is reportedly valued at $9.9 billion.

Raiders controlling owner Mark Davis maintains approximately 30% ownership, satisfying the NFL’s requirement for a controlling owner. Davis inherited the franchise from his father, Al Davis.

Egon Durban’s stake in the Raiders increased from 11% to 22%. Durban is chairman of the board of directors at Endeavor Group Holdings and holds a seat on the board for TKO Group Holdings. Endeavor remains the largest single shareholder in TKO.

The UFC has been based in Las Vegas for decades, and this move further intertwines the city’s major sports properties. Silver Lake, led by CEO Egon Durban, previously made a $500 million investment in the Manchester City soccer team in 2019.
