Three competitors from UFC Vegas 117 were transported to a local Las Vegas hospital for precautionary scans following Saturday’s event at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Promotion officials confirmed that Melquizael Costa, Daniel Santos, and Shauna Bannon were all sent for additional medical evaluation after their respective losses on May 16, 2026.

Costa was transported for precautionary CT scans of his head, face, and chest after a unanimous decision defeat to Arnold Allen in his first UFC main event appearance, which snapped a six-fight win streak and moved his UFC record to 7-3.

Daniel Santos, also known as "Willycat," was taken for precautionary scans of his chest, pelvis, and abdomen after a second-round body-shot stoppage loss to Doo-Ho Choi in a bout labeled "Fight of the Night."

Shauna Bannon was transported for precautionary CT scans of her head and face after a third-round submission loss to Nicolle Caliari in the card opener, a setback that marked the first two-fight losing streak of her professional career and moved her UFC record to 2-3.

The results of the medical scans for Costa, Santos, and Bannon had not been publicly disclosed at the time of the report.

The article notes that it is normal for the UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons after damage-heavy fights or knockouts in "Sin City."
