Tai Tuivasa has spoken out after dropping a unanimous decision to Louie Sutherland at UFC Perth, a result that marked his seventh consecutive loss inside the Octagon.
Sutherland, who stepped in on short notice, earned his first UFC victory in the bout. Tuivasa had a point deducted late in the fight for an illegal knee, adding to a rough night for the longtime heavyweight contender.
“Sorry, I tried,” Tuivasa said. “I felt good. I put in the work. Didn’t get the result. I feel like a shit c*nt. Let my fans down again. Back to the drawing board for me. C*nt of a sport.”
Despite the skid, Tuivasa made it clear he is not ready to walk away. “But I will never give up. I’m from western Sydney, you gotta put me out for me to give up. Sorry all my loyal fans, I really am and to my team, love yahs.”
Tuivasa had previously considered retirement after his fifth straight loss but returned following more than a year away, then dropped a decision to Tallison Teixeira in February before facing Sutherland in Perth. Long regarded as a fan favorite, he has continued to receive opportunities in the UFC even as the losses have piled up.
