Sean Strickland has taken aim at Dustin Poirier’s reaction to his recent arrest for public drunkenness at Atlanta International Airport.
Poirier was arrested by the Clayton County Sheriff's Office in Georgia after he became hostile with airline workers and provoked an airport police officer to a fight. He later cited his father's homelessness and his struggle with life after retirement as reasons for his depression.
Strickland, speaking on his Instagram story, made it clear he does not support Poirier’s stance and urged him to snap out of it. “I know this is an unpopular opinion, and you've got other people saying like, 'Oh, male depression is a real thing,'” Strickland said.
He continued, “Dude, no, it's not. No, it's not, especially if you're like successful, and you've got a family, and you're rich. It's not a thing, dude. There are kids literally laying in bed dying of chemo right now that would do anything for one more f*cking day on this planet, and you're looking in the mirror saying, 'Oh, I'm sad, I'm sad.' Shut the f*ck up.”
