11-05-26

Sean Strickland emerged with a razor-thin split-decision victory over Khamzat Chimaev in the UFC 328 main event, capping a tense five-round battle at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, last Sat. night (May 9, 2026).

Judges Eric Colon and Sal D’Amato scored the fifth round for Strickland, while judge Sue Sanidad saw the final frame for Chimaev, sealing a disputed result that immediately fueled debate.

The UFC has since uploaded the entire fifth round of the UFC 328 main event to its YouTube channel, putting the decisive stanza in front of fans for closer scrutiny.

Chimaev, known as "Borz," demanded an immediate rematch after the fight, keeping the door open for a potential second clash with Strickland, who carries the nickname "Tarzan."

In the broader middleweight picture, Nassourdine Imavov, ranked No. 2, was previously defeated by Strickland at UFC Vegas 67 in early 2023, while former champion Dricus Du Plessis, who holds two victories over Strickland, has stated he wants to reclaim the title.
