Sean Strickland Edges Khamzat Chimaev by Split Decision at UFC 328

Sean Strickland reclaimed middleweight gold with a split-decision win over Khamzat Chimaev in the main event of UFC 328.

Competing in the headliner at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., Strickland earned a narrow judges’ call to become a two-time middleweight champion.

Chimaev entered the bout with a 15-1 MMA record and 9-1 mark in the UFC, while Strickland came in at 31-7 in MMA with an 18-7 UFC record.

With the victory, Strickland leaves UFC 328 back on top of the middleweight division after a closely contested five-round battle.
