Sean Sharaf is out of his scheduled heavyweight bout against Tai Tuivasa at UFC Perth on May 2 after suffering an injury.
Sharaf announced on social media that he has withdrawn from the fight due to a fractured nose, scrapping his main-card meeting with the Australian fan favorite at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.
“Sorry guys, I fractured my nose and won’t be able to fight May 2,” Sharaf shared. “Going to get it fixed look forward to getting back in there soon.”
It is not yet known if the promotion will seek a new opponent for Tai Tuivasa or re-book him for a future event.
UFC Perth is set for May 2 at RAC Arena and is headlined by Jack Della Maddalena vs. Carlos Prates. Tuivasa, who was slated for the main card, enters the matchup on a six-fight skid dating back to 2022 after previously putting together a five-fight winning streak that included a knockout of Derrick Lewis.
Sharaf holds a 4-2 record and is still searching for his first UFC win after two promotional appearances.
