Sean Brady has his sights firmly set on Belal Muhammad as the UFC Fight Night 278 headliner between Muhammad and Gabriel Bonfim approaches at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas on Saturday.
Muhammad enters the main event with a 24-5 professional record, including 15-5 in the UFC, while Bonfim brings a 19-1 mark and a 6-1 slate in the promotion. Brady, who previously lost to Muhammad in 2022, is openly backing the Chicago welterweight and hoping a win sets up a second meeting.
"I think Belal Muhammad is going to f*ck over Gabriel Bonfim, and then me and Belal are going to fight and run it back," Brady said on his BradyBagz Show. He added that the venue could favor Muhammad, saying, "Small cage, I think Bonfim is going to get put on his back foot by Belal, he's going to take him down, and just rinse and repeat."
Brady also pointed to Bonfim’s grappling threats while still leaning toward Muhammad’s experience. "Ange Loosa did a good job of taking Bonfim down. Bonfim has good submissions, so Belal has to be wary of that. But Belal has been a world champion before. He's going to know how to approach this fight, and I think he's just going to drag him to the mat and rinse and just repeat that."
If the result goes the other way, Brady is also open to Bonfim, saying, "If he has the No. 5 ranking next to his name," and, "I just want somebody in the top five."
