Salahdine Parnasse made a statement in his long-awaited U.S. debut, stopping Kenneth Cross with a first-round knockout to cap a highly hyped arrival on American soil.
The former two-division KSW champion finished Cross with a body shot, forcing referee Jason Herzog to step in and halt the bout at 4:18 of the opening round.
After the win, Parnasse reflected on the work that led to his breakthrough moment, saying, "I’ve been working really, really hard," before adding, "I gave my all. It’s such an honor. I’m grateful for everyone. I’m ready for the next fight, boxing, MMA, I’m ready. I’m the best fighter in the world. Anyone."
Parnasse entered the card with considerable hype and has long been considered one of the top fighters in Europe. Following this performance, he is described as one of the top free agents in the sport.
