Ronda Rousey Shuts Down Holly Holm Rematch Talk After Netflix Win

Ronda Rousey has poured cold water on the idea of a rematch with Holly Holm, despite renewed interest from "The Preacher’s Daughter" nearly a decade after their first meeting at UFC 193 back in late 2015.

Rousey, who previously lost to Holm at UFC 193, recently returned to competition by submitting Gina Carano for MVP earlier this month on Netflix. Even with Holm publicly stating she is open to running it back, Rousey says she is retired and not interested in a second fight.

"I said I’m retired, A and B, I think that I am a completely different fighter now. I would clean her clock and definitely now that I got that new medication," Rousey said, while also explaining she was diagnosed with cortical spreading depression and used new medication in her most recent fight.

Holm, for her part, has continued to express nothing but respect and a willingness to meet again. "I highly doubt she’ll ever want a rematch," Holm admitted, before adding, "I always have said since the minute the last fight was over, I’ll always rematch her. That’s always been available. But she wanted to come back and have this win and go back and enjoy life and have a win like that. No hate from me. I hope she does well. I hope she does whatever she wants with her life. That’s her life. I’d always be open to fight her again."

Before losing to Holm, Rousey was 12-0 with 12 finishes and says she once believed concussions were catching up to her, claiming a secret history of concussions that contributed to her stepping away.
