Ronda Rousey Fires Back at Kayla Harrison Over ‘Biggest Fight’ Criticism

Ronda Rousey has pushed back after Kayla Harrison objected to her calling the May 16 comeback fight with Gina Carano the biggest in women’s MMA and labeled Rousey irrelevant.

Rousey, who faces Carano in a bout that will stream on Netflix, argued that the matchup is actually helping Harrison and the heavier women’s divisions. “I'm like, 'Dude, we're doing nothing but help you. We've done nothing but help you.' I literally have, like, a vested interest in developing the heavier divisions,” Rousey said.

The former Olympic bronze medalist in judo also reflected on their personal history, noting that Harrison once lived and trained in the same house as her. “Me and Kayla have a kind of complicated relationship in that she came to live in the same house I was and train with us,” Rousey said, later adding, “So I wish her the absolute best in life and all of the success and all the things over there. I wish her the best. I just don't want to be involved.”

Rousey maintained that Harrison is still benefiting from the attention around the Carano fight. “It also benefits (Harrison), all of this. Now she's got a higher profile than she's ever had. You're welcome. Go figure out how to do something with it,” Rousey said, while warning, “Don't come for me, OK? Momma's working.”
