Rescheduled Flyweight Title Fight Joins Stacked UFC 328 Lineup
05-04-26

The flyweight title bout between Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira has been rescheduled to UFC 328, adding another championship clash to a card headlined by Khamzat Chimaev vs. Sean Strickland.

Originally slated for the April 11 event in Miami, Van vs. Taira will now take place on May 9 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Joshua Van will defend his flyweight title for the first time after winning the belt in December against Alexandre Pantoja, while Tatsuro Taira enters his first UFC title fight on a two-fight win streak that includes a stoppage of former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno.

At the top of the bill, Khamzat Chimaev defends his middleweight championship against Sean Strickland in the UFC 328 main event. Chimaev captured the title by defeating Dricus du Plessis, and Strickland enters the bout after finishing Anthony Hernandez in his most recent fight.

Here’s the full main card for UFC 328, which takes place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

In addition to the two title fights, the main card features Alexander Volkov vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta, Sean Brady vs. Joaquin Buckley, and King Green vs. Jeremy Stephens. Volkov enters UFC 328 at 5-1 in his past six fights, with his only loss in that span a controversial decision to Ciryl Gane.
