Report Points to Possible UFC 329 Headliner Amid Netflix Clash

A new report is hinting that UFC could be lining up a major headliner for UFC 329, with speculation centering on a possible Conor McGregor vs. Max Holloway matchup.

The discussion comes as the promotion faces a high-profile challenge on May 16, when Netflix rolls out a combat sports lineup headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano, along with Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Mike Perry, and Junior dos Santos.

Rousey has spent the last three months criticizing UFC, and Hunter Campbell declined her proposed comeback tour before she landed the headlining fight against Carano on Netflix. The report frames a potential McGregor–Holloway booking at UFC 329 as a way for UFC to answer the streaming giant’s move.

UFC 329 is being discussed for Las Vegas, while UFC Vegas 117 is scheduled for this Saturday night in the same city. Rousey is a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion, Carano is a former Strikeforce attraction, and McGregor, nicknamed "Notorious," has been absent from competition for five years and has had personal struggles.

The report also notes Rousey’s "Rowdy" persona as part of the promotional push around her Netflix return. When it comes to the UFC’s response, one word currently attached to official confirmation of McGregor vs. Holloway is simple: "no."
