Reinier de Ridder is planning a move to light heavyweight for his next UFC appearance after coming up short at UFC 326 in Las Vegas.
The Dutch fighter, a former two-division champion at ONE Championship, most recently lost to Caio Borralho at UFC 326 and previously dropped a bout to Brendan Allen at UFC Vancouver in October. De Ridder now appears set to leave middleweight behind and compete at 205 pounds.
Reflecting on his latest outing, de Ridder said, "I came up a little short," before adding, "I think it could have gone either way, but I’m happy that I got my body back, most importantly. I was able to go three hard rounds. I think I have a lot more to show."
He then made his intentions for the next phase of his UFC run crystal clear: "I brought you guys donuts because I need you guys heavy, I need you guys strong because I’m coming at 205 [pounds], baby."
De Ridder enters this planned move to light heavyweight with a professional record of 21-4 after his middleweight stint in the UFC.
