Randy Brown Pushes Back on Kevin Holland Callout Claims Before UFC 327
09-04-26

Randy Brown is setting the record straight ahead of his welterweight clash with Kevin Holland at UFC 327.

Brown and Holland are booked to meet at Kaseya Center, and in the buildup Holland has claimed Brown had been calling him out for years. Brown disagrees with that version of events and says the timeline is much shorter.

"I know he said earlier that I called him out – but I called him out back in 2023, officially," Brown said.

According to Brown, the two even discussed the matchup privately before it was ever booked. "Me and him even had a conversation about it. He said it was not something he was interested in. He wanted to fight the older guys, which is cool. He's very transparent like that. I was good with that. We were cool. I haven't called him out since. Now he feels something to get him up. I'm good with that."

Brown, who holds a 20-7 professional record and is 14-7 in the UFC, also drew a contrast in mindset with Holland. "He needs some kind of motivation," Brown said, later adding, "I never need motivation. I don't care if we're cordial. You're not my friend. I don't give a f*ck. We can fight today. We can fight tomorrow. Whenever we're going to fight. I can smile and break your face with a smile on my face."

Holland enters the bout on what Brown describes as a two-fight losing streak and carries a 28-15 professional mark, including 15-12 in the UFC.
