Rafael Fiziev Draws Surging Finisher Manuel Torres in UFC Baku Main Event
27-06-26

Rafael Fiziev will look to steady his career when he meets Manuel Torres in the lightweight main event of UFC Baku at the National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Fiziev, 13-5, headlines the card after a rough stretch that has seen him drop four of his last five fights. That run includes a recent knockout loss to Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 325, as well as defeats to Justin Gaethje, Ruffy, and Gamrot following a six-fight win streak. Gamrot’s win came via a knee injury that sidelined Fiziev for a year and a half.

Opposite him is Torres, 17-3, who enters the matchup with significant momentum. The Mexican lightweight is coming off consecutive first-round knockouts of Grant Dawson and Drew Dober. Since earning his contract on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2021, Torres has won five of his six UFC bouts.

FanDuel currently lists both Fiziev and Torres at -108, making the main event a pick’em on the betting line.

Fiziev is ranked in the top 15 at lightweight in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, while Torres aims to use this headlining opportunity to establish himself among the division’s elite.
