Raja Jackson, son of former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton Jackson, has reached a plea agreement in his felony assault case stemming from an incident involving fellow pro wrestler Stuart Smith in Sun Valley last year.
Jackson pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury, personal infliction of great bodily injury, and engaging in violent conduct. The plea agreement is expected to result in at least 90 days in county jail followed by two years of formal probation.
The case involved an assault in which Jackson continued punching Smith after Smith lost consciousness until staff intervened. Smith is entitled to $81,703.38 in restitution fees and was forced to retire from pro wrestling due to facial injuries.
The plea deal was made with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Quinton “Rampage” Jackson publicly condemned his son’s actions following the arrest, saying, "Look, he’s my son, I love him dearly, but he dishonored my name," and adding, "I can’t even put into words how upset I am with my son. He dishonored my name. I’ve been in this sport for a long time, and when he did what he did, everything said, ‘Son of MMA’s Rampage.’ That’s my f—king name. I don’t do that shit. I don’t go around beating people up on the street."
