Pedro Munhoz has officially requested his release from the UFC, bringing an end to a tenure of more than a decade with the promotion.

Munhoz, a longtime UFC bantamweight veteran and former Top 15 fighter, has been part of the roster since 2014. His most recent appearance was a unanimous decision loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC Edmonton in 2024. He is currently in the process of becoming a free agent.

"Since 2014, I’ve been part of the UFC, building my name, proving myself, and showing what I’m capable of inside that octagon," Munhoz said.

Over the course of 22 UFC bantamweight appearances — the second-most in division history behind Marlon Vera — Munhoz went 2-7-1 in his last 10 fights. During his run, the 39-year-old earned four "Fight of the Night" bonuses and three "Performance of the Night" bonuses, and shared the Octagon with elite names such as Aljamain Sterling, Jose Aldo, Dominick Cruz, Sean O’Malley, Frankie Edgar, and Cody Garbrandt.
