Paulo Costa has gone public with his frustration at the UFC, saying the promotion has been slow to book his next fight.
Costa moved up to light heavyweight in April and scored a stoppage win over previously undefeated Azamat Murzakanov at UFC 327. He is now targeting a quick turnaround for the final bout of his current UFC contract and is open to competing at middleweight, light heavyweight, or even heavyweight.
Costa took to X on Monday to air his displeasure with the delay in securing his next assignment.
The former UFC middleweight title challenger has fought more than once in a calendar year only once since 2017, which came in 2024 when he suffered defeats to Robert Whittaker and Sean Strickland. He now holds his first winning streak of this decade, carrying an overall MMA record of 16-4 and an 8-4 mark inside the UFC.
