UFC 329 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas delivered significant movement in the USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings, despite its main event failing to fully materialize.
Conor McGregor was scheduled to face Max Holloway in a rematch 13 years after their first meeting, but an early injury to McGregor prevented the fight from developing. The main event was described as having little to no impact on the rankings.
The co-main event produced one of the night’s biggest shifts. Paddy Pimblett submitted Benoit Saint Denis in the opening minute with a submission he named "The Pad-Tie." As a result, Pimblett moved from No. 9 to No. 7 in the rankings, while Saint Denis dropped from No. 7 to No. 8.
In bantamweight action on the main card, Mario Bautista defeated Cory Sandhagen. That result pushed Bautista to No. 5 in the bantamweight rankings and sent Sandhagen down to No. 6.
Overall, UFC 329 in Las Vegas produced notable changes across the rankings, even as the long-awaited McGregor–Holloway rematch ended before it could truly begin.
