Paddy Pimblett says his weight is right where it needs to be ahead of his UFC 329 clash with Benoit Saint Denis in Las Vegas.
Pimblett, 31, revealed he gained significant weight after his UFC 324 loss to Justin Gaethje, saying he "got fat again" before returning to camp. Approximately seven weeks out from the Saint Denis bout, he weighed 188 pounds and maintains that figure is on target for his planned return to the 155-pound division.
Addressing ongoing scrutiny about his fluctuations on the scale, "The Baddy" pushed back at critics. "I know you always think I’m a fat bastard but the weight is actually sound," he said, before taking aim at online commentary: "You can all think what you want. You have all these stupid dietitians and fight dietitians posting pictures of me. Fuck you all. You gang of bums. You can’t even make your own fighters make weight."
Pimblett has previously described having a "genuine eating disorder" and often gains weight between fights. The article referencing his comments also notes criticism from dietitians and fight dietitians, and mentions that extreme weight cuts in the industry have been associated with fighter deaths.
