Alex Pereira has been publicly cleared of blame by seminar organizer Joyagear after criticism over his conduct during a recent U.K. tour stop.
Pereira faced social media backlash following a London event, where a rumor claimed he refused photos and autographs with fans and ended his seminar time early. In a statement, Joyagear said the issues stemmed from "miscommunication" and not from the UFC star’s actions.
"As the event organizer, Joyagear takes full responsibility for the organization, logistics, communication, and agreed deliverables surrounding these events," the company stated, emphasizing that Pereira relied on them to run the tour. "Alex Pereira trusted Joyagear to organize and manage the tour accordingly. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication and shortcomings on our side, the agreed deliverables were not communicated clearly to Alex. As a result, changes had to be made to parts of the events."
Joyagear stressed its stance on Pereira’s role, adding, "We want to make one thing very clear: Alex Pereira was not at fault." The organizer also announced that all Meet & Greet ticket holders are receiving a full refund and that the remaining tour events will continue as planned.
Alex Pereira is a former two-division UFC champion and is coming off a knockout loss to Ciryl Gane in the second round at UFC White House in an interim heavyweight title fight. He has publicly complained about referee Herb Dean missing alleged illegal shots to the back of his head by Gane.
