UFC Perth has a new featherweight matchup, with Ollie Schmid stepping in on less than a week’s notice to face Marwan Rahiki after Jack Jenkins withdrew due to an undisclosed injury.
The 145-pound bout will take place at RAC Arena, where Rahiki looks to make the most of his second UFC appearance and move his professional record to 9-0. He has finished all of his pro opponents by stoppage, including second-round wins over Ananias Mulumba and Harry Hardwick.
Schmid enters on short notice for his UFC debut with a 4-2 record and a three-fight winning streak. His recent run includes a 15-second spinning back fist knockout over Jeffrey Mesa in March in New Zealand, and he received a last-minute call to join the UFC roster for this bout.
UFC Perth is set to be headlined by Jack Della Maddalena vs. Carlos Prates, with Beneil Dariush vs. Quillan Salkilld serving as the co-main event.
