Oleksandr Usyk kept his unbeaten run intact on Saturday afternoon, stopping Rico Verhoeven by 11th-round TKO in a high-profile boxing bout at the Pyramids in Giza, Egypt.
The heavyweight clash headlined a PFL event and was broadcast on DAZN pay-per-view. Usyk closed the show at 2:59 of Round 11, adding another stoppage win to his record.
Usyk entered the fight at 24-0 with 15 knockouts and holding the WBC heavyweight title. Verhoeven came in with a 1-0 professional boxing record and is a former Glory heavyweight kickboxing champion.
Verhoeven had not competed in a pro boxing match since April 26, 2014, when he scored a first-round knockout over Janos Finfera. Betting odds had Usyk as a -3000 favorite, with Verhoeven listed as a +1360 underdog.
The card, which began at 11 a.m. ET, was noted for having many quick finishes before the main event reached its late-round conclusion.
