24-05-26

Oleksandr Usyk and Rico Verhoeven successfully made weight in Egypt ahead of their heavyweight title boxing clash at Glory in Giza.

At the official weigh-ins on Friday, Verhoeven came in at 258.7 pounds, while Usyk registered 233.3 pounds for the bout in Egypt.

Usyk’s WBC heavyweight title will be on the line when he faces Verhoeven, who enters the contest with a 1-0 boxing record and status as the longest-reigning champion in Glory Kickboxing history.

Usyk, now 24-0 as a professional, previously rose to prominence as a cruiserweight before moving to heavyweight, where he has earned victories over Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Daniel Dubois, including a fifth-round knockout of Dubois in July 2025. Verhoeven, meanwhile, reigned as Glory’s kickboxing champion for over 11 years and defeated Artem Vakhitov in his most recent title defense before leaving the promotion as a free agent.
