Ode Osbourne is out of his scheduled flyweight clash with Cody Durden at UFC 329 on July 11th in Las Vegas, leaving the planned opening bout off the lineup for now.
Osbourne announced that he will not be able to compete on the card and did not disclose a reason for his withdrawal. "Unfortunately, I won’t be able to complete on July 11th," Osbourne said. "This breaks my heart because it’s such a big stage, and my team and I have put in a lot of hard work over the past eight weeks. I’m going to rest and be back for the next one. Thanks, everyone, for rockin’ with me."
Durden reacted publicly to the news, stating, "My opponent Ode Osbourne has officially went running and pulled out of our fight for July 11th at UFC 329," before adding, "Who wants to fight me in 19 days?" Matchmakers have not yet announced whether Durden will remain on the July 11th lineup in Las Vegas.
The UFC 329 card on July 11th in Las Vegas is topped by the welterweight return of Conor McGregor against Max Holloway. Elsewhere on the card, heavyweight prospect and Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson has been moved to the preliminary card to face Elisha Ellison, also known as the Snack Panther.
