Ode Osbourne is out of his scheduled UFC 329 flyweight bout against Cody Durden due to an undisclosed injury, leaving the promotion searching for a replacement opponent.
Both fighters announced the withdrawal on social media on Tuesday ahead of the July 11 event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC is now seeking a new flyweight to step in against Durden on short notice.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to complete July 11th,” Osbourne said, adding, “It sucks because my team and I have put in so much hard work for over eight weeks, but I’m going to rest up and come back for the next one. Thank you guys for rocking with me.”
Durden responded publicly to the news, stating, “My opponent Ode Osbourne has officially went running, and pulled out of our fight for July 11th at UFC 329,” before issuing an open callout: “Who wants to fight me in 19 days?”
Durden snapped a four-fight skid in April with a unanimous decision win over Jafel Filho. He holds a 18-10-1 professional record and a 7-8-1 mark in the UFC, and is described as one of the division's most active fighters.
