Norma Dumont Eyes Bantamweight Title Picture Ahead of UFC FN 274
23-04-26

Norma Dumont is aiming to break into the bantamweight title conversation as she prepares to face Joselyne Edwards in the co-headliner of UFC Fight Night 274.

Dumont meets Edwards on Saturday at Meta APEX, with the event streaming on Paramount+. Dumont enters the bout with a 13-2 MMA record and 9-2 mark in the UFC, while Edwards brings a 17-6 MMA record and 8-4 UFC slate into the matchup.

Dumont views the fight as a crucial step toward a future title opportunity that could involve Kayla Harrison or Amanda Nunes. "I think Kayla and Amanda have to fight so we can figure out who I fight next," Dumont said.

She also made it clear she is not overlooking Edwards, who is currently riding a four-fight winning streak, all by stoppage. "She's a dangerous fighter, she's a strong fighter," Dumont said. "I think this fight is going to be a mix of standup and ground work. She's dangerous in both areas. There's also a lot of holes in her game. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to explore those holes and impose my will."

If Dumont wins on Saturday, she will extend her UFC winning streak to seven fights.
