Most Valuable Promotions’ debut MMA card has taken a late hit, as Muhammad Mokaev has withdrawn from his scheduled bout with Adriano Moraes due to visa delays.
In his place, undefeated Phumi Nkuta, who is 11-0, will step in to face Moraes. The matchup will take place at a 130-pound catchweight on a six-fight preliminary card.
Nkuta enters the bout riding momentum from winning the A1 Combat flyweight title in March with a decision victory over Namiki Kawahara. He has also earned victories in LFA and Bellator.
Moraes is set to compete for the first time since ending an 18-fight run with ONE Championship. During his tenure there, he and Demetrious Johnson fought a trilogy, with Moraes winning the first bout by second-round knockout and Johnson winning the next two.
MVP’s first MMA event is headlined by Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano and also features a welterweight bout between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry on the main card.
