Michael Morales Fires Back After Ian Machado Garry’s Weight-Class Advice

Michael Morales had a blunt response for Ian Machado Garry after the Irish contender publicly suggested the unbeaten Ecuadorian should move up to middleweight.

Garry, who is scheduled to challenge Islam Makhachev for the welterweight championship in the UFC 330 headliner on Aug. 15 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, recently brought up Morales while discussing the title picture. On The Ariel Helwani Show, he said, "If I was Michael Morales, you know what my advice would be to him? Go up to 185," and added, "Because you're young, you're big, you're somewhat talented. There is a lack of stars up there in the sport, and I think he could do very well there. But if he wants to stay at 170, I'll punch a hole in his head at some point."

Morales, who owns a 19-0 record in MMA and 7-0 mark in the UFC, answered on his Instagram story, saying, "I just want to say one thing to Ian Garry: 'Suck it,'"

Morales remained unbeaten by finishing Sean Brady by first-round TKO at UFC 322 in November. Garry, 17-1 in MMA and 10-1 in the UFC, also mentioned Carlos Prates alongside Morales when discussing the welterweight title race.
