Merab Dvalishvili delivered a dominant performance over UFC Hall of Famer Frankie Edgar at RAF 9, winning by technical superiority with a commanding 12-1 lead.
Despite receiving an early penalty point deduction for lack of activity, Dvalishvili surged ahead with multiple takedowns and sealed the result with a four-point single-leg and trip in the final period.
After the match, Dvalishvili turned his attention to Henry Cejudo. “I want to call him out,” Dvalishvili said. “He disappeared when I was ready. Henry, I hope you have big balls to go wrestling with me. Show me some Mexican balls, bro!”
Dvalishvili also praised the RAF platform and emphasized how much the competition is driving him. “This is wrestling, one point can change everything. I love RAF. It motivates me. This is a great reason to be busy, to get better everywhere. I’m ready. Whoever. I would like to challenge everybody.”
Dvalishvili was originally supposed to face Cejudo in his RAF debut and is currently waiting for a trilogy bout against reigning UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan to be scheduled. He recently suffered a broken nose in training before the clash of heads that occurred during the match with Edgar.
