11-06-26

Mauricio Ruffy is set for a high-profile lightweight clash with Michael Chandler at UFC White House on Sunday in Washington, D.C.

Ruffy enters the bout as a UFC lightweight contender with a 13-2 record and momentum behind him after a recent knockout win. He is scheduled to face Chandler in one of the standout matchups on the card.

Signed off Dana White’s Contender Series in 2023, Ruffy made an immediate impact by winning his first three UFC fights. One of those early victories came via a spinning wheel kick knockout of King Green, underscoring his reputation as a Brazilian knockout artist.

Ruffy previously suffered his first UFC loss to Benoit Saint Denis at UFC Paris but rebounded with a knockout of Rafael Fiziev at UFC 325. He trains in Australia alongside UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and is known outside the cage for his strong interest in anime, particularly One Piece.

UFC White House takes place Sunday in Washington, D.C., with Ruffy vs. Chandler slated as a key lightweight showdown.
