Mateusz Gamrot made a statement at UFC 327 on Saturday, submitting Esteban Ribovics in their lightweight bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Gamrot secured the victory by arm-triangle choke at the 4:19 mark of Round 2, scoring his second finish in nine UFC wins.

Speaking after the fight, Gamrot said, "Second time I took on a guy out of the rankings, second time I showed I should be in the rankings," before turning his attention to a new target. "Give me someone at the f*cking top. Diego Lopes, I heard he wants to move to lightweight. Let's go."

Gamrot, who trains out of American Top Team, previously lost a short-notice main event to Charles Oliveira in October. Lopes is currently scheduled to fight Steve Garcia at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
