Liz Carmouche and Rafael Fiziev each delivered emphatic stoppage victories on a packed weekend that featured both UFC Fight Night 280 and PFL San Diego.
UFC Fight Night 280 took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, where Rafael Fiziev stopped Manuel Torres in the second round with a head kick and follow-up strikes. On the same card, Asu Almabayev moved up in the flyweight rankings after a submission win in Baku.
The same weekend, PFL San Diego hosted a key co-main event in the women’s flyweight division. Former Bellator champion Liz Carmouche submitted former UFC fighter Viviane Araujo in the co-main slot. Carmouche previously lived and trained in San Diego before moving to Florida.
