Kody Steele made a statement at UFC Fight Night 275, submitting DomMar Fan with a first-round heel hook at RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia.
The bout ended at 3:56 of Round 1, giving Steele the victory by submission under the UFC banner on Saturday.
With the win, Steele moves to 8-1 in his MMA career and 1-1 in the UFC, while Fan falls to 9-3 overall and 1-1 in the promotion.
Steele has now finished six of his eight professional wins, adding another stoppage to his resume after previously engaging in a Fight of the Night bout against Rongzhu at UFC 312 in February.
