King Green is set to open the main card against Terrance McKinney at UFC 329 on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and he’s making his feelings about the matchup very clear.
Green, who enters the fight on a three-fight winning streak and holds a 35-17-1 MMA record (16-12-1 UFC), faces McKinney, owner of an 18-8 MMA mark (8-5 UFC) and described as having the shortest average fight time in UFC history.
Speaking ahead of the bout, Green said of McKinney, "It's interesting. He's trying to save face," and later added, "It's really bullsh*t. I think he just wants to swing on Conor McGregor's balls and say he's on Conor McGregor's card, like whoopty f*cking doo. But it's like, you're going to sacrifice some of this sh*t just for clicks? I'm not tripping. I'll wait until the L.A. card. I'll wait until another card, and I'll still make it pop."
Green also pushed back on the idea that his presence on UFC 329 is tied to the event’s headliner, saying, "It don't matter that I'm here because of Conor McGregor. I'm going to do what I'm going to do regardless. I think he's chasing clout and chasing those things, and I had a conversation with him, and he's worried about the public. I'm not worried. I'm doing me, bro, and if you like me, you like me. If you don't, you don't. It is what it is. I'm not trying to be fake or phony or try to chase clout. I want clout to chase me, not vice versa."
Green summed up his view of McKinney and their upcoming fight bluntly: "He's a quick pumper," before adding, "I'm here for the long run. No, this is going to be a long time. We're going to dance."
UFC 329 is headlined by the return of Conor McGregor, while Green continues to pursue the BMF belt.
