Khamzat Chimaev made a violent statement in his RAF debut, scoring a rapid pinfall win over Dillon Danis in the RAF 10 main event before a massive post-match brawl erupted on the mats.
Chimaev secured a takedown and pinned Danis with his shoulders on the mat, prompting the referee to call the pinfall. After the whistle, Danis held onto Chimaev’s leg, and Chimaev responded by kicking him on the ground.
The kick ignited a large melee involving both teams on the mats, with security moving in to try and restore order. The scene was described as the ugliest situation in RAF since Arman Tsarukyan punched Georgio Poullas after their first match ended with a brawl.
Chimaev has been described as one of the biggest signings to RAF, and this marked Danis’ second appearance in the promotion, which again ended with a loss and chaos. The two remained cordial at the RAF 10 press conference on Friday, but tensions escalated sharply after their match on Saturday.
